Tom O'Hare

Chief Meteorologist Tom O'Hare joined the Doppler 9&10 Weather Team in May, 2004 for 9&10 News at 5 and 11. Before joining 9&10 News, Tom worked as the morning/noon Meteorologist in Binghamton, New York. He also worked in 2 other New York cities. He was Chief Meteorologist in Watertown and worked in Rochester as a fill-In Meteorologist and Weather Producer. Tom has a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from the State University of New York at Brockport. He's a Member of the American Meteorological Society and holds the Society's Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Designation or CBM. The CBM recognizes holders having the educational background and have been tested in their knowledge and communication of the sciences needed to be an effective broadcast meteorologist. Over the years he's won several awards from The Michigan Associated Press and Michigan Association of Broadcasters. You can also listen to Tom's forecast weekday's on WTCM. " I just love the weather. I love to get outside and enjoy it. " Tom says, " I grew up watching the meteorologists on TV, reading the forecast in the newspaper and making my own forecast. I would always know what the forecast was, so I could figure out what I wanted to do after school" To no surprise when Tom is not working, he's outside keeping busy. You may see him biking, running, camping, hiking, playing volleyball, working on the house or garden or anything else that takes him outside. If you know of a cool hiking or biking trail, let him know odds are he'll check it out. In the winter, he's normally clearing the snow from his driveway or out on the snowmobile!
