Soo Pilots Association Hosting Aerial Fall Color Tours at Sanderson Field

For several years now, the Soo Pilots Association has held its Aerial Fall Color Tours at Sanderson Field in Sault Ste. Marie. And on Saturday, you will have the chance to fly a couple thousand feet above the Soo.

A 20 minute flight will cost you $25. The cost helps offset gas, and whatever is leftover goes back into the association’s fundraising fund.

It is a first come, first serve event that starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m.

And this event would not be able to happen without the pilots volunteering their time.

“They are all volunteers, yup,” Tom Brown, airport manager, says. “They just want people to see some aviation plus the colors that go with it with the view from the sky. You can look at the Lock Project as you fly by. It’s a really good ride.”
