More charging stations for electric cars are coming to Traverse City.
On Friday, Traverse City Light and Power marked the occasion with a ribbon cutting ceremony at Clinch Park.
They celebrated the 27 new electric charging sites rolling out through the city.
You’ll soon be able to find them in downtown parking lots and at the Traverse Area District Library.
The goal is to reduce the city’s carbon footprint.
“This really is the future of mobility,” said Maggie Striz Calnin of Michigan Clean Cities. “There will always be a variety of fueling options, but we really need to push that low and zero emission power train.”
Traverse City Light and Power will have a map of the new charging stations coming soon.
