Pandemic, Weather Putting Stress On Tokyo Olympics

A worrying sign in Tokyo, the site of the summer Olympic games, as the city reported more than 1,700 new COVID-19 cases.

That was just during the second official day of the Olympics.

It’s concerning because that is 700 more cases than this time last week. Of those new cases, 137 have been linked to Olympics.

The pandemic isn’t the only force of nature effecting the games.

A typhoon is forecast to disrupt some events.

Japanese officials say the incoming weather is just a mid-grade tropical storm, but several events have had to adjust their schedules in case of heavy rain.
