Colonial Pipeline Running Again After Russia-Based Cyberattack

The Colonial pipeline is now back up and running, but the supply problem isn’t over.

Officials say it will take several days for oil deliveries to return to normal.

President Biden will speak today about the cyberattack and the gas shortage on Thursday.

A group of Russia-based hackers known as “Darkside” shut down the pipeline in an attack last week.

The pipeline is responsible for supplying 40% of fuel from Houston to New Jersey.

AAA says the national average price for a gallon of gas is now above $3.

This is the first time gas has been that high since 2014.

Analysts say the surge in gas prices has more to do with people coming out of the pandemic.
