Charlevoix Circle of Arts Presents: Dream to Reality with Kim Richelle
Life is more interesting when you color outside the lines of your imagination.
Local author and artist, Kim Richelle, has a new art exhibit up at the Charlevoix Circle of Arts. Dream to Reality is filled with a kaleidoscope of colors, mythical characters, and deeper underlying meaning. It will take you on a journey through the eyes of her alter egos, and you’ll learn how each illustration is actually tied to someone in her life.
Her artwork doesn’t really fall under a specific genre, but she tells us it is based on our subconscious. As a lifelong artist, Richelle struggled with her community’s resistance to creative thought. Her books tell tales of the roots and consequences of bias and control. She says, “the more personal I am, the more relatable it is.”
Kim Richelle’s books, The Day Rue Flew, Banshee, and Shed the Cloak of Control, will also be available for purchase and signing. The gallery is not only limited to artwork, she will also be featuring guest speakers that intertwine with her work and beliefs.
You can see Dream to Reality now until May 29.
