The Youth Advisory Council is a group that’s been working on projects for around 20 years in Sault Ste. Marie.
They are about to embark on a project that will raise money for a couple dozen students who want to do mission work this summer in the Dominican Republic.
But there is a greater mission involved.
The group wants to shine the light on local veterans and their service to our country.
“It really spiraled in a matter of days from just a simple project of just a couple banners, to really expanding it through our whole community,” YAC Coordinator Abby Baker says. “That way we can honor more vets and utilize a place-making and beautification of our city.”

So far, 149 poles have been secured to hold these banners.
The website will be up and running Wednesday at 6 a.m. for people that want to order banners.
