Producer Chat: A Doll Like Me

“Find the good and spread the good.”

That’s what the four’s Executive Producer Jamie Thompson often looks for when picking the day’s Producer Chat with Anchors Charlie and Michelle.

And this is some serious good—a woman named Amy Janrisevits has made it her mission to help kids with healing.

Amy was a social worker in a pediatric oncology unit in Wisconsin.

She would use the dolls to help kids through play therapy.

But she noticed that many of the toys had thick hair, and seemed to be in perfect health.

She started creating her own for kids in the cancer unit, creating custom dolls that looked like them.

Amy says each costs about $100 to make and ship, and she’s doing everything in her power to make sure every kid who might benefit from having one for comfort during medical treatment gets one.

You can learn more about her organization, or donate to help make sure deserving kids are able to get one of these dolls, by heading to her .
