Sled Legs: New Thrilling Winter Activity

A new wintertime activity is giving skiing, snowboarding and sledding a run for their money – they’re called Sled Legs.

“Sled Legs are sleds you strap to your legs – pretty straightforward,” says Co-founder Jon Moroney.

Five West Michigan Fathers created this new winter sport because they know better than anyone how to entertain their children during our snowy winters.

“We are all fathers – we’ve been sledding with our kids for years and we did it when we were kids and traditional sledding is fun so we thought what a great way to have all families engage in a cool winter activity and keep them active when the snow falls here in Michigan,” says Moroney.

They are an extreme sport but are generally a little safer due to their proximity to the ground and the control of both your hands and feet.

“When you fall – if you fall then you’re like a lot closer to the ground and stuff and you don’t have the full-impact as you would when you’re sledding or skiing or snowboarding and you don’t have to carry anything behind you,” says Moronoey’s daughter, Peyton.

The Co-founders have been having loads of fun along the way – getting their children involved in the process.

“When he came up with these I was like you’re crazy and then when I saw them I was like these are awesome,” says Moronoey’s son, Carson.
