Breaking news into the newsroom right now, the DNR just told us there’s a wildfire spreading in Benzie County.
DNR officials say it’s in a remote swampy area in Grass Lake Township and no one is in danger
The fire is covering 35 acres, approximately three miles northwest of Karlin Lake and three miles southeast of Bendon.
The DNR says it was caused by a lightning strike.
They are monitoring the fire overhead as they can’t reach the fire to fight it.
