Muskegon Police: 8-Year-Old Child A Person Of Interest In Toddler’s Death

Police are calling an eight-year-old child a person of interest in the death of a west Michigan toddler.

Korey Brown, who just turned one, was found dead at a daycare in Muskegon Friday after being left unsupervised with other children.

His mother works third shift.

When she got off work on Friday, she went to pick up the children at Keysha Keepers, a licensed home daycare in Muskegon she had been using for the past few weeks.

Korey was in a pack and play.

The way he was lying, one side of his face was covered

She says there were bruises and bite makes on Korey’s face, fingers, stomach and a swollen head.

Muskegon police say they have information that Korey was crying and an 8-year-old had unsupervised contact with the baby at that time.

A 5-year-old is the primary witness to what happened.

An autopsy has been scheduled.

The eight-year-old was later taken for a mental health evaluation.
