Bear Lake Elementary Teacher’s Hot Streak Predicting Snow Day Intact

A teacher in Manistee County is on a hot streak when it comes to predicting snow days near the 100th day of school.

Ann Edmondson is a first grade teacher at Bear Lake Elementary and for the past 15 years, every time she prepares to send out an invitation about their 100 day in school celebration, a snow day seems to follow soon after.

Thursday was no different.

Edmondson said it’s become an inside joke at the school.

“It became a standard joke now with the elementary staff after week, because each year they say, have you printed that 100 day note because they’re so excited to have a school day off. This year, particularly because we have had no snow days up to this point,” said Edmondson.

Thursday was the school’s first snow day of the year. Edmondson said the chance of getting a snow day in Northern Michigan this time of year is pretty good. Still, they’ve been having a lot of fun with it.
