Grand Traverse Bay YMCA Hosts First Blood Drive of the Year

January is National Blood Donor Month. It’s the perfect time to give back to save others.

The teamed up with Versiti Blood Center on Monday for a blood drive. That blood will help everyone from newborn infants to cancer patients, who need 25% of blood donations.

This is the first blood drive the YMCA has hosted this year.

“I think it’s important to give back to your community in a multitude of different ways, and one of the easiest ways to do that is through our blood drive here at the YMCA,” said Jenny Graber, Senior Community Engagement Director.

The hosts a blood drive every three months, and you can donate even if you’re not a Y member.
