If you’re looking for something fun to do Thursday night, Traverse City Whiskey Company is hosting their Cherry Whiskeyfest.

This is their third year hosting it but first time in person. The festival was actually built in response to the COVID-19 pandemic which caused the National Cherry Festival to be canceled back in 2020. They wanted to make sure the community was still able to celebrate. Every year at the festival, they release their barrel proof cherry whiskey.

“We’re all very excited. We have our production crew, the team that helped me make the barrel proof cherry coming out to celebrate with us. And we’re all going to be here to engage with the community and answer questions and taste on some of the best whiskey in Michigan,” Chris Fredrickson, owner and distiller says.

The event goes until 8 p.m. Thursday with live music, a rooftop bar and of course cherry whiskey.
