What’s Growing? Keeping the Lawn Green

It’s that time of year again!

Time to feed the lawn.

Being so thick and green we can tell ours is in great shape, but how about yours?

Justin Morgan from Morgan Composting suggests feeding the lawn every holiday and with Labor Day coming it’s time to put down some Safe Green Lawn.

He says it’s a 10-0-4.  With phosphorus being zero, we don’t need to worry about an algae bloom in a nearby pond or creek.

The organic matter helps keep the lawn going strong and builds up the organic coverage for the coming years.

There is one more thing you can do to your lawn and that is to aerate it.

Essentially putting lots of small holes in the ground to allow it to breathe and take in nutrients. It reduces the compaction of the soil.

It’s all part of maintaining the lawn which is needed all the time it’s growing.
