Former President Donald Trump Endorses Tudor Dixon for Governor

The endorsement that has loomed over the Republican race for Michigan governor has come in.

Tudor Dixon announced late Friday that former President Donald Trump endorsed her for governor.

“It is a great honor to receive President Trump’s endorsement and have the strength of our campaign to defeat Gretchen Whitmer further affirmed by his support,” Dixon said in a statement released late Friday.

In the last poll before the primary, Dixon was leading the other candidates, coming in at 19%. But it was a narrow lead, and more than 30% of Republican votes hadn’t decided who they were going with.

The Trump endorsement stands to push Dixon ahead even further heading into Tuesday’s election.

“When I met Tudor Dixon, she was not well known, but I could tell she had something very special – it was a quality that few others have,” Trump stated. “She delivered a powerful speech on how she would lead Michigan, fight for Election Integrity, turn around the Economy and protect the future of Michigan for every child. Then, after recognizing her during my Rally speech in April, her campaign took off like a rocket ship. The great people of Michigan got it – just like did. Tudor Dixon will make a great Governor and has my Complete and Total Endorsement.”

Along with the endorsement from former President Trump, Dixon has also earned other endorsements, including: the Police Officers Association of Michigan, Right to Life of Michigan, the Michigan Chamber of Commerce, the Associated Builders & Contractors of Michigan, the DeVos family, former Governor John Engler, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, U.S. Representatives Lisa McClain, Bill Huizenga and Tim Walberg, former Lt. Governor Dick Posthumus and over 20 Michigan legislators.
