A 46-year-old man from Rapid City was taken into protective custody after Michigan State Police received multiple 911 calls about a naked man dancing with a handgun on southbound US-131.
Witnesses said a man was naked, dancing, doing pushups and had a 9mm handgun near mile marker 187 in Wexford County Tuesday, according to MSP. Troopers say that the man also manually emptied the ammunition from the handgun while witnesses were on the line with dispatch. A Michigan State Police sergeant and a Wexford County Sheriff deputy arrived on the scene and placed the man into protective custody.
He was transported to the nearest hospital for a mental health evaluation.
According to MSP, he possessed a valid Michigan CPL.
