There’s no doubt that the summer season is in full swing in northern Michigan. And there’s plenty of fun going on that you won’t want to miss.

Erin Murphy from the West Michigan Tourist Association has more in this week’s What’s Happening in Northern Michigan.

Raven Hill Discovery Center’s 30th Anniversary Celebration Open House

Raven Hill Discovery Center in East Jordan is hosting an open house celebration on Sunday, July 10, commemorating 30 years of connecting science, history, and the arts. The celebration kicks off at noon for an afternoon of great activities, including walks on the newly finished Connections Trail, solar powered 3D printer demonstrations, a silent auction, food, and more. During your visit, be sure to also check out the Smithsonian Labor Days History of Work exhibit, and preview the upcoming outdoor Evolving Technology addition. They’ll also be accepting anniversary donations to continue providing great learning opportunities at the center.

Harbor Springs Chamber – Tuesday Night Movies

Harbor Springs Chamber’s Tuesday Night Movies in the Park are back this summer, in Zorn Park! This is a great, family friendly event, hosted by the Harbor Springs Area Chamber of Commerce, where you can enjoy a free outdoor movie, with delicious popcorn from the Harbor Springs Lyric Theatre. Each movie begins at dusk, and their next showing will take place on Tuesday, July 12, where you can enjoy a screening of The Secret Life of Bees. If you can’t make it next week, mark your calendars for Tuesday, July 26, when the movie will be Mrs. Doubtfire, and August 2 will feature The Greatest Showman on the big screen. Be sure to bring pillows and blankets for a cozy night of fun!
