Wisconsin authorities are currently searching for a man who is on the run after allegedly killing a 46-year-old Eau Claire, Wisconsin man, according to the Eau Claire Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies are searching for Philip Novak, 36, of Wisconsin, who is a suspect in the death of Eddie Banks, 46, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Novak is possibly in northern Wisconsin or in the Upper Peninsula after he fled the area, according to the Eau Claire Sheriff’s Office.

The search comes after Eau Claire sheriff’s deputies found Banks’ body in a ditch of the E11000 block of Mallard Road in Clear Creek Township, Wisconsin on Thursday morning. Banks had died because of a gunshot wound, according to deputies.

Novak was identified as a suspect in the homicide through evidence and interviews, the sheriff’s office said in a release Tuesday.

Anyone with information on where Novak could be is asked to call the Eau Claire Communications Center non-emergency line at 715-839-4972.
