10 TIPS TO BUILD AN EMERGENCY PLAN
- If you have electrically-powered medical equipment, ask your physician, nurse or equipment provider about an emergency plan before an outage occurs
- Have at least a three-day supply of food, water and medication on hand
- Stock enough supplies for infants and pets
- Store first aid kits in the home and in the car
- Keep flashlights, a portable radio and plenty of fresh batteries handy
- Make sure family members know how to get in touch with each other during an emergency
- Store emergency contacts in your mobile phone
- Know where your cell phone charger is
