Traverse City Farmer’s Market Opens for Season

It’s one of the sure signs of spring: the downtown Farmer’s Market is back in Traverse City.

The opens Saturday morning and will run every Saturday into October. DDA Communications, Marketing, and Outreach Director Art Bukowski says every visit is different with new vendors showing up throughout the season.

They’ll have locally made jams and jellies, honey, and fresh fruits and vegetables. Although, Bukowski says, with the cold start to spring there may be high demand and short supply on fresh produce. “We’re looking forward to getting some of our local folks down there. It’s been a little bit of a cold spring. So we’re only going to have about 30 vendors tomorrow. But we generally have as many as 90-110 vendors throughout the season.”

The farmer’s market runs from 730 a.m. until noon every Saturday.  They’ll add a Wednesday market for the summer months – that starts in June.
