Michigan health officials are reporting 1,575 new coronavirus cases and 38 deaths since Wednesday.

According to the MDHHS, between Thursday and Friday, the average number of new cases per day is approximately 788.

Additionally, they say 39 of the 38 deaths reported Friday were identified during a review of vital records.

It is important to note that the daily number of deaths in confirmed cases is one fewer than the number identified by vital records review due to corrections being made to previously reported deaths during on-going data quality and cleaning efforts by public health to ensure the accuracy of death data.

In total, Michigan has had 2,076,143 confirmed coronavirus cases and 32,752 total confirmed covid-related deaths.

As of Tuesday, 5,673,045 Michiganders ages five and older have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

As of Monday, 6,642,167 Michiganders ages 16 and older have received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
