Ski Resort Sees Less Customers Thanks to Cold Temperatures

With cold temperatures, ski resorts have been seeing less customers coming to hit the slopes.

While Nubs Nob Ski Area and Resort in Harbor Springs expected a slow start to the year because that’s what tends to happen following the holidays, but the cold temperatures haven’t been helping.

However, it’s not all bad. They were able to take advantage of being less busy by creating a lot more snow.

The ski resort has seen many of their customers bundling up more than usual and that’s been keeping them warm on the hills, so they expect the amount of customers they’re getting to go back up.

“This upcoming Friday, for instance, is supposed to be a colder day in the single digits, maybe 10 or 11 degrees, but the sun is supposed to come out and if you can get a day even when its that cold and the suns out and the winds light it’s pretty doable as a skier,” said Ben Doornbos, manager of Nub’s Nob.

Doornbos added the cold also allows for better conditions on the slopes.
