Benzie-Leelanau District Health Dept. Hosting “Give a Can, Get a Kit” Campaign

The month of January is Michigan’s radon awareness month, and the Benzie-Leelanau District Health Department is giving it a little twist.

Until the end of January, they will be doing their own “Give a Can, Get a Kit” campaign.

Bring in any non-perishable items and they will exchange it for a free test kit for you to use.

All donations can be dropped off at their building, and will go to local non-profit organizations.

“If we can bring that awareness to the population, then also help out the needy in our area’s, then it’s a win-win for everybody,” said Eric Johnston, Environmental Health Director of Benzie-Leelanau District Health Department.

It is recommended that you check your home’s radon levels every two years.
