The customers will be the first to tell you, Jennifer and Bruce smith at Jennifer’s Roundabout Restaurant in Mesick love what they do.

“There is always conversation, there is always laughter, and it’s always centered around great food,” said customer Bill Roman. “And you can tell the food is made with love, and it spills over.”

Your meal may even spill over your plate a little, too, like the stuffed biscuits and gravy. Just about everything is homemade.

“The patty on the burger, the sausage, the corned beef, roast beef, we make the same way, jellies are all homemade, we buy local fruit, we try to make everything as local as we can,” explained owner, Jennifer Smith.

Jennifer also makes the bread. They have white, wheat, rye, sourdough and raisin, all sliced to order.

The sourdough bookends this turkey popper Ruben.

“It’s got sauerkraut, thousand island, honey barbecue, definitely a good sandwich, it’s got a lot of amazing flavor to it,” said Jennifer’s husband, Bruce.

And for the smaller ones ’round the table, the kids cakes are a hit.

Jennifer makes all sorts of animals like pigs and cows, figures and characters.

“I love kids, making them happy while they’re here,” she said.

At Jennifer’s Roundabout Restaurant, every dish set down revolves around family.

Bill Roman has proven that true ever since he walked in six years ago.

“I was looking for a restaurant one morning and I came around the roundabout and pulled in,” he said.

“He has become family not just a friend,” Jennifer said.

Bill has since joined the Smiths at Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Sunday dinner and more.

“Definitely when you come in, we treat you like family, and you’re that way for life,” said Jennifer. “I try to touch everyone’s heart like they touch mine and it means a lot.”
