Fall is in full swing and in this week’s What’s Happening in Northern Michigan, Courtney Sheffer shows us all the fun activities you can enjoy with your family during November.

Fall Fun at Crystal Mountain

You’ve got one last chance this Saturday to join in on the Fall Fun at Crystal Mountain in Thompsonville! It’s a great reason to bring the family outdoors for biking, disc golfing, and checking out the Edge Adventure Course. Get into a fall mood with pumpkin carving, a wagon ride, fall chairlift rides, and the scarecrow walk. Check out their full schedule for this Fall Fun Saturday online, and plan to enjoy a perfect fall day at Crystal Mountain.

Holiday Artist Market

As we move into November, the annual Holiday Artist Market at the Dennos Museum Center in Traverse City is right around the corner! It takes place the first weekend in November, and features both fine art and homemade goods, including pottery, jewelry, paintings, and more. It’s the perfect place to pick up some one-of-a-kind holiday gifts, while also supporting the Dennos Museum Center through this annual fundraiser.

Harbor Springs Area Historical Society

If you’d like to learn more about the area’s maritime history, the Harbor Springs Area Historical Society has a few programs coming up in early November that you’ll want to check out. They’re hosting a program on Tall Ships in Lake Michigan on Nov. 9, which brings to life the vessels, captains, and crews of historic sailing ships from Lake Michigan, and another on the Gales of November on Nov. 11, showcasing these intense weather systems which have been known to produce 120 mile per hour winds and 30-foot waves. Both programs will be presented online via Zoom, and advanced registration is required.
