The U.S. will invest more than $3 billion in a Covid-19 anti-viral pill.
The investment was announced Thursday by Dr. Anthony Fauci at a White House briefing.
The antiviral pills for COVID-19 would be used to minimize symptoms after infection.
Several companies, including Pfizer, Roche and AstraZeneca, are testing antivirals in pill form.
The pills could be in the U.S. by the end of the year.
