‘Burger Bash’ in The Soo, June 16

The ‘Burger Bash’ in The Soo once again!

and Burger Bash is happening Wednesday, June 16 at the main office on Bingham in Sault Ste. Marie.

Those who attend can enjoy grilled burgers and all the fixings under the canopy at Central Saving Bank from 4 PM – 7 PM. The cost of the meal is by donation only.

All proceeds go to the ‘‘ program at War Memorial. This is the 10th year for the ‘bash’. Each year, it raises about $5,000. 

The Road to Recovery provides free transportation to and from Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey for those that need chemotherapy. It costs about $15,000 per year to run the vehicles 5 days a week.

40 patients use the program every year.

“It’s a camaraderie, I guess when you get to know people that are seeking the same kind of treatment you are and they support one another,” said Marla Bunker, Director of Nursing at WMH. “The volunteers really get a lot of fulfillment out of helping”.

If you would like to become a volunteer for the ‘’ program, there will be information available at the ‘Burger Bash’ event.
