Wildland Fire Contained in Grayling

Fire crews have contained a wildland fire that broke out Northeast of Grayling Wednesday afternoon.

They say the fire occurred on Jones Lake Road between Wilcox Bridge Road and County Road 612.

The DNR says the fire burned through 130 acres before they were able to contain it.

They say they had assistance from Grayling Public Safety and the Camp Grayling Fire Department.

Air tankers and ground units were used to fight the fire.

The DNR says they have the fire under control, and there is no threat to the community.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
