Charlevoix will continue with their summer concert series this year while also keeping in mind COVID safety precautions.
Every Thursday in July and August a concert will be held at the Bandshell in East Park located downtown. Most bands come from the immediate area but one reggae group comes all the way from Chicago.
The concert series was cancelled last year but this year they have protocols in place to keep both the entertainers and guests safe, including mask wearing, social distancing and dancing in place. “I think it’s just important for people to have something to do especially after being cooped up for the last year,” said Lindsey Dotson, Director of the Charlevoix Downtown Development Authority. “Being that it’s an outdoor event, I think those who might not want to do certain activities will feel comfortable doing this.”
The upcoming concerts means more customers on the way for Charlevoix’s downtown businesses.
