Northern Michigan has plenty going on this month with snow sports taking center stage, along with Valentine’s Day.

February is the month of love and chocolate, and chocolate-lovers should plan to head to Boyne City on February 14 and 15 for the Chocolate Covered Boyne event.

Downtown merchants and vendors will offer delicious chocolate treats and in-store specials.

Visit the Boyne City Education Building on Main Street to sample this year’s entries in the dessert contest, and make sure to stock up on sweet treats to bring home.

This year’s Michigan Snowmobile Festival is coming up February 21-22 in Gaylord.

The festival is all about getting out and riding the trails together, so plan to join in for “Michigan’s richest snowmobile fun run,” with extra stops and an additional day to ride this year.

There’s no cost to participate, and you’ll be entered into a drawing for each stop you visit, as well as earn an entry into the cash drawing taking place at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

You can even join in a guided ride starting at the Tourism Bureau on Saturday to visit the different stops.
