Batteries and fluorescent lightbulbs can cause dangerous chemicals to leak out or even cause fires if just tossed in the trash. That’s why places like the Resource and Recovery Department with Grand Traverse County wants to help.
They have specific days designated to dropping off these items from your home or work to keep them out of the trash and ultimately out landfills.
