According to the CDC, the number of children and teens affected by obesity has more than tripled since the ‘70s.

And in a tech-heavy world, Fit Kids 360 is taking on the fight to get kids moving.

Susi Worden is one of the organizers in the new partnership. She says they expanded from Grand Rapids to Traverse City, and are now reaching into the Frankfort and Kalkaska communities, too.

Fit Kids 360 is all about creating healthy habits in families for long-lasting change.

They call it Fit Kids 360 because they want to address the whole picture of health.

“What I would say is the biggest change we see in the children and their families is a huge boost in their confidence and their self-esteem, which is huge for these kids,” Worden says.

And it’s not just for kids. Parents and siblings can also join in.

“You have to get a referral through your provider office, children between the ages of 5 and 17 are eligible, and they have to have a BMI of the 85th percentile  or higher,” Worden says.
