The Father Fred Foundation Frostbite Food Drive may benefit from the recent cold weather.
The Traverse City based organization helps thousands of local families each year.
Due to the negative temperatures, the organization has decided to extend the dates of the Frostbite Food Drive through Feb. 15. This extension may exceed their goal of 1,000 boxes of food.
The organization is currently looking for items such as canned tuna, soup, rice, pasta sauce, peanut butter, canned fruits, and oatmeal.
You can also donate cash to help buy perishable items like milk, meat and eggs.
Food is being accepted at the foundation, located on Hastings Street in Traverse City.
