Dog Penelope Picks the Patriots, Hopes Someone Will Pick Her

In the Rams v Patriots fervor, it’s “paw-sible” even dogs can get excited about Super Bowl weekend.

Penelope, a Mountain Cur mix housed with the Humane Society of Midland County, picked the Patriots for the win.

But her judgement might have been slightly skewed due to the intoxicating aroma of bacon treats. Watch the video above to see the cute exchange.

The humane society says if Penelope picks the winning team, and the family that adopts her say they saw her on 9&10 News, they will also get a $20 gift card to Pet Smart!

But the best thing the family that picks her will get is a sweet, gentle and obedient dog that’s playful and loves tennis balls.

And she is a superstar leash walker.

At 4 years young, she has shown herself to be great with other cats and dogs, and the shelter says she should be okay with kids, too.

She draws you in with big brown eyes and a beautiful bridle coat of alternating stripes of brown and copper.

Her adoption fee is $150, but if you mention seeing her on 9&10 News she will be $75.

The shelter asks potential owners to bring current household dogs for a meet and greet, and fill out an application online ahead of time here.

If you are on your way to visit the HSoMC, give them a call at 989.835.1877 to verify she is still there. If you are en route, they will hold her until you get there for a meet and greet.

The shelter is open Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Monday through Friday from noon to 7 p.m.

You can browse more dogs at the HSoMC on Petfinder or their Facebook page here.
