Get Active With Northwestern Michigan College This New Year

Eating well and getting more exercise is on the top of many people’s “to-do” list this new year.

From free exercise classes to food and cross country skiing, Northwestern Michigan College is making it easy for you to find what you love with a few upcoming classes this year.

Free Forever Fit classes

NMC has a week of free Forever Fit classes to offer you from Jan. 7 to 11. And the classes cover a wide range, from total barre to pilates, yoga, cardio, strength training and more.

Healthy Indulgence

A culinary class on Tuesday Jan. 8 called Healthy Indulgence is well-named.

“It is not an oxymoron,” says NMC’s Director of Extended Education Laura Matchett. “You can indulge in a healthful way.”

Get Outside, Cross Country Ski

Fresh air is so great for people’s bodies and minds.

Whether you have a pair of skis you want to dust off, or prefer to rent, people can learn how to ski with NMC.

The college has a beginner cross country ski course starting Jan. 9 and going until Jan. 16 at the at the Timber Ridge Nordic Center in Traverse City.

And there’s an introductory skate skiing course that starts Jan. 10 and goes until Jan. 17 at the Timber Ridge Nordic Center in Traverse City.

Sign up for either ski course at nmc.edu here.
