Saginaw VA Recognizes PEACE Ranch in Grand Traverse County

Since 2013 PEACE Ranch in Grand Traverse County has helped heal the lives of more than 500 veterans and their families.

Monday those victories were celebrated with an award.

The Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, Saginaw director presented PEACE Ranch with the Distinguished Community Partnership plaque.

It’s for five years of dedicated service to American veterans.

The ranch and the VA partners to help veterans heal at the ranch through therapy with horses and this award is just confirmation of all their efforts.     

Vietnam veteran and peer mentor at the ranch Larry Lelito says, “This is huge, it’s like getting an award from our government. It proves that things are going good here and we’re welcomed and our achievements are being recognized.”

PEACE Ranch donates 100 percent of their services thanks to their many sponsors.
