Father Fred Foundation Opens Doors For Traverse City Garage Sale

A garage sale to help everyone in need opened its doors once again.

A Traverse City non-profit’s hosted its biggest fundraiser of the year Saturday.

The Father Fred Foundation put up its tents once more for their bi-annual garage sale.

The sale includes everything from clothes, jewelry and antiques to furniture.

The Foundation says every year this sale brings in money that get immediately turned back to helping people in need across Northern Michigan.

And organizers say every sale helps.

"All the money here, the proceeds will go directly to client services and so those are things like helping our neighbors in need with car insurance, car repairs, rental assistance,” says Sue Bauer, volunteer coordinator for the Father Fred Foundation. “Our community is just so generous and they always show up to support us."

Father Fred will hold their second garage sale in the fall.
