House Intelligence Chairman Temporarily Stepping Back From Russia Investigation

House Intelligence chairman Devin Nunes announced he’ll temporarily step back from the investigation into Russia meddling in the presidential election.

He says it’s in the best interest of the committee to have Republican Congressman Mike Conaway lead the investigation.

Nunes says he will continue to do other duties with the committee.

This huge change comes after Nunes has been under fire for secretly visiting the White House grounds to review evidence related to the probe.

He’s also been criticized for speaking with President Donald Trump and the media about his findings before talking with Democrats on the intelligence panel.
