Murder charges have been dropped against a man who was accused of shooting and killing Wayne State University Officer Collin Rose.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy made the announcement this morning. DeAngelo Davis has been in jail since the night of the shooting, November 22nd.. He faced charges of first-degree murder and murder of a police officer.
Worthy says new evidence shows Davis is not a suspect in the shooting. Detroit stations are reporting surveillance images show Davis was inside a business at the time of the shooting.
Rose was shot on November 22nd and died the following day. He was posthumously promoted to sergeant and is the only Wayne State officer killed in the line of duty.
