Mount Pleasant Community Hosts Spaghetti Dinner

Central Michigan University dining hall workers, coming together to put on a benefit dinner for their former boss.

The spaghetti dinner and silent auction was this evening.

More than 170 people poured in to the Faith Lutheran Church in Mount Pleasant to help Ron Souva and his family.

Ron has Frontal Temporal Dementia and Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

His former employees say Ron went from being a vibrant, on the go guy to not being able to do very much.

Now his wife takes care of him and they also get help from hospice.

More than 100 businesses donated baskets for today’s benefit, which also had a silent auction.

"It’s a miracle I’m so honored I can’t believe we put this together in such a short amount of time. 2 weeks we put this together. And we came as one big family and made it happen. And to see the joy on his family’s face is just a blessing," said Amber Wittig.

They raised more than 15 hundred dollars tonight.
