A Northern Michigan school is hosting a program to help keep student athletes safe.

Cadillac Area Public Schools is hosting a concussion presentation Thursday night.

University of Michigan neurologist and co-director of Neuro-Sport, Dr. Andrea Ana Almeida will be sharing insights and research about concussions.

The school is hoping to raise awareness and educate the public when it comes to concussions.

“It’s important to understand concussions as parents and as a superintendent because the health and wellness of our student athletes is most important,” explained Jennifer Brown, Superintendent of CAPS. “So for us to have an expert come to the community so we can better identify and understand concussions, I think it’s a real opportunity we can all benefit from.”

The presentation will start Thursday night at six in the Cadillac High School auditorium.
