Event Friday: Chili Cook-Off, Wreaths Across America, Skiing and Golfing Weekend

It’s Event Friday on Michigan This Morning!

This weekend holds a few exciting and fun events for you to check out.

Piping Hot Chili Cook-Off & Sales:

Classic Motor Sports is hosting the 2015 Piping Hot Chili Cook-Off & Sales event to benefit the Father Fred Foundation and Toys for Tots.

The event will take place on Saturday, December 12th from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The store will have big savings on select merchandise.

Bring canned food items for the Father Fred Foundation, and new un-wrapped toys for Toys for Tots.

Chili Cook-Off competitors will receive a $20 Classic Motor Sports gift card, and the first place winner will receive a $150 Classic Motor Sports gift card.

Wreaths Across America:

On Saturday, December 12 beginning at 11:45 a.m. The National Wreaths Across America ceremony honoring U.S. Veterans will be taking place at the Liberty Township Cemetery in Manton.

This is a national event that takes place simultaneously over 700 cemeteries across the country.

Skiing & Golfing Weekend:

Treetops Resort in Gaylord is planning to open for skiing this weekend for their annual Free Ski Weekend.

Skiing will be available from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and anyone who books a hotel room at a participating lodging property will receive a free lift ticket.

And because of this winter’s unusually warm weather, Treetops will also be opening the Jones Masterpiece Golf Course!

The first available tee time is at 10 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.
