An elderly man in Clare County is alive this morning thanks to a good Samaritan who pulled him from his burning home. The man was driving by the home Saturday afternoon in Clare when he noticed an 81 year old man trying to rescue his dog. Police say once the elderly man was safe, the Samaritan went back inside the smoke-filled home and eventually found the dog but the pet didn't make it. The man was taken to a local hospital where he's to be treated for smoke inhalation.
