Mancelona Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash Near Gaylord

Troopers from the Michigan State Police Gaylord Post say a man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Thursday night.

They say Edward Wilson from Mancelona and another man were riding their motorcycles west on Alba Road around 8:45 p.m.

Wilson was speeding when he came around a sharp curve and went off the road.

Troopers say he was thrown off the bike onto the road, and his motorcycle flipped several times. The other man called 911.

Firefighters from Elmira Township gave Wilson CPR and used a defibrillator before EMS arrived. He later died at the hospital.

Troopers say Wilson was not wearing a helmet and alcohol may have been a factor.
