Shoe impressions helped lead investigators to two 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old girl who are now accused of starting a fire at a Cheboygan auto recycling plant.

Troopers say James Charboneau and Evelyn Bergstrom, along with the 16-year-old, started the fire at Kling’s Auto Recycling back on November 17.

Crews say multiple vehicles also had broken windows and several vehicles were on fire.

Charboneau is now charged with fourth-degree arson and destroying property at the recycling shop.

Bergstrom is also charged with malicious destruction of property.

The 16-year-old girl has been charged as a juvenile.
