Beginner Stretches: Lower Body

Exercise Specialist Ben Watson has been showing us some stretches we can do at home.

Previously, he showed us how to stretch our .

Now he shows us how to stretch our lower body.

The first stretch focuses on the hamstring. Watson says the key is to keep the leg straight and hold for 30 seconds to two minutes.

There are two other movements to the stretch that target other muscle groups.

Watson says the stretches can be done using hand towels, belts, or even stretching straps if you have them.

They can even be done on a bed, if the ground isn’t comfortable—just be extra careful if you have a hip replacement.

We just want to caution–look at the range of motion that you are going through,” he says.
