McBain NMC’s Jada VanNoord Hits 100-Goal Milestone in Win Over Tawas

MCBAIN-- McBain NMC shutout Tawas 5-0 on Wednesday night. NMC keeper Harper Tossey had eight saves on the day.

The game’s goals were scored by Paige Ebels, Jada VanNoord (2), Kylee Winkle, and Makala VanPolen.

VanNoord’s first goal on the night was her 100th as a Comet.

“I can’t even describe the feeling because it’s just it’s so cool. And with this incredible team, it’s something that I can I couldn’t have even imagined doing. And I love all my teammates so much. And it’s just, it’s incredible. I can’t even I don’t have words to describe it. It’s awesome,” she said of the feat.

Her mother and head coach, Jen VanNoord, was ready to wrap her in a big congratulatory hug when the milestone was hit.

“She has been with me through it all. Ups and downs. She gave me my love for soccer. And I owe it all to her. And it just felt like kind of a gift to her too, because I owe it all to her,” Jada said of her mother.

Jada is a junior, so she has many milestones to go. With 101 goals under her belt, she is the tied for 60th in all-time goal scoring in Michigan girl’s high school soccer.

“I‘m going to keep playing well, keep playing with my team, for my teammates, for my God. And yeah, we’ll see what happens,” she said of what’s to come.
