Applications are open for National Cherry Queen 2023-24!
Applicants should be women 19-25 years old who live in Michigan. The deadline to apply is May 15, 2023.
After that, the Queen Candidate Finalist Selection competition will take place on May 26-27. It will consist of three interviews and one speech related to the cherry industry or the National Cherry Festival. The judging will be held at the Traverse City Country Club.
The top four candidates will be awarded an academic scholarship of $1,250. They will also be the court for the reigning 2022-23 National Cherry Queen, Olivia Coolman, during the National Cherry Festival.
Each candidate will be secretly judged throughout the week.
The new 2023-24 National Cherry Queen will be crowned at the Coronation Ball on Friday, July 7 at the Northwestern Michigan College Hagerty Center.
The new Queen will receive $8,250 in scholarships, a wardrobe valued at $2,500, and travel to promote the cherry industry and the National Cherry Festival. The first runner-up will receive an additional $500 to her scholarship package.
