National HIV Testing Day Is June 27th

Your sexual health is just one aspect of your overall health.  Getting tested for HIV is no different from a check-up.

HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is a virus that attacks the body’s immune system. If HIV is not treated, it can lead to AIDS.

National HIV Testing Day is Sunday, June 27th. In recognition of this day, the Thomas Judd Care Center in Traverse City wants to highlight this year’s theme, “My Test, My Way,” which emphasizes the different ways and opportunities to be tested.

The Thomas Judd Care Center offers free, confidential testing as well as a free at-home testing kit. Get tested for HIV in a way that works best for you. You can choose between two tests, a mouth swab or finger prick test.

provides prevention education, free HIV testing, case management, and primary care for people living with HIV in all 30 counties in Munson Healthcare’s service area. Recently, there has been increases in new HIV diagnoses in Kalkaska county, which is four times greater than the overall rate of new diagnoses in Michigan.
